Would you like to have an unforgettable experience in Puglia? Join our country picnic in a wonderful vineyard in the Alberobello countryside. We have decided to make this tasting even more charming by organising it during the summer sunsets.
In this unique place, surrounded by olive groves, dry-stone walls, cultivated fields and the characteristic trulli, you will taste some of the local food and wine products. But that’s not all! The pic-nic is actually the last part of an exciting wine tour that starts not far from the vineyard.
You will take part in a guided tour of an ancient winery located a stone’s throw away from the old town of Alberobello.
You will discover one of the oldest wineries in Puglia, where tradition and modernity blend together in a charming place.
You will learn about the modern winemaking techniques and walk through the wine museum dedicated to the ancient local rural tradition.
Don’t miss the opportunity to take part in a fascinating journey through the Apulian winemaking tradition, between past and present in the pursuit of good taste!
A few kilometres from the old town of Alberobello, the marvellous “city of trulli”, a UNESCO heritage site, stands one of the most popular and oldest wineries in the whole region.
The origins of this fascinating place date back to the early 1900s. Today it represents an example of balance between modern production requirements and the protection of the classic architectural style.
The wine cellar is entirely made out of local stone. The cisterns, formerly used to collect water and now used to store wine, are still buried in the limestone.
The visit will give you an all-round cognitive experience: we will tell you about the history of the company, the wine production process and the winemaking techniques employed respecting the environment and the territory.
The upper floor of the winery houses the museum where you can embark on a fascinating visual journey through Apulian wine and farming culture.
The museum hosts a large collection of ancient agricultural tools and a rich selection of photographs, thanks to which it is possible to discover the differences between ancient production methods and modern winemaking techniques.
This place is the guardian of our history and it is easy to understand how hard working in the fields was in the past: from tending the soil to pruning the vines, from hand-harvesting the grapes to making wine in the winery. It was a hard physical job that required daily dedication and sacrifice, the results of which also depended on the weather conditions.
