The experience

A bike itinerary to discover the Apulian villages and their food specialities

Explore the Apulian natural and architectural beauty by going on this e-bike tour (pedal-assist bikes allowing you to easily cover long distances and any kind of hill).
We will ride together along some of the most beautiful rural paths in the Valle D’Itria, surrounded by lush green hills. The landscape of this part of Puglia is famous for its countless trulli, characteristic dry-stone walls, ancient masserie, fields which are still being cultivated by local peasants, precious vineyards and centuries-old olive groves.
Like sentinels watching over this stunning natural beauty and landscape, high up on the hilltops are some of the most beautiful Apulian villages: Ostuni, Locorotondo, Alberobello, Martina Franca and Cisternino.
From the country roads we will then move into the alleys of the old town, where time seems to stand still.
Our bike experience ends with a tasting of Apulian culinary specialities hosted in an old 17th-century farmhouse. We will taste a selection of dairy products and cold cuts prepared in the farm’s own cheese factory and charcuterie, served with other local dishes and good wine.

The tour itinerary

The tour starts from Martina Franca, famous for its Baroque architecture. Cycling on low-traffic paved roads, we will reach the countryside paths that will lead us to the Apulian Aqueduct Cycle Route. This is a long cycling route through the countryside of the Valle D’Itria. The ride along this route offers glimpses of a very beautiful landscape.
After a few kilometres we will head for Cisternino, where we will visit its small old town full of alleyways, stone houses and small shops.
We will then continue our tour along the cycle route on our e-bikes.
The next stop will be Locorotondo, where we will admire the beauty of the valley from the many panoramic views that this ancient Apulian village offers its visitors.
We will end our bike experience with a tasting of local products at an old farm where the highly appreciated typical Apulian specialities such as, among others, mozzarella, burrata and capocollo are produced.
We will then return to where we started in Martina Franca.
