Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival - Matera

Our Tour Leader will warmly greet you at your arrival in Puglia.
The entire afternoon is dedicated to the first cultural and gastronomic activity: the Sassi and Old Town Private Guided Tour with Interactive Bread Making Workshop.
Matera’s historical and architectural charm will be unveiled through a pleasant walk in the European Capital of Culture of 2019 and UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as location for popular movies.
Matera is one of the most ancient cities in the world: the Murgia plateau on the other side of Sassi is full of remains belonging to the Paleolitic and Neolithic period. The core part of Sassi is called “Civita” (from Latin civitas, ‘city’), which is surrounded by the Sasso Barisano and the Sasso Caveoso, right behind the old town.
The experience will continue with a visit to an ancient bakery where you will have the pleasure of appreciating one of the city’s most famous gastronomic products: Matera’s freshly baked bread. You will turn into a baker learning how to make bread from kneading dough to baking it in a wood fired oven, all under the supervision of an experienced panettiere (baker). At the end of the activity there will be bread tasting – straight out of the oven – and many more Lucanian delicacies.
After getting lost among the alleys of the old town and the houses facing the ravine, the first day of your tour will end with a delicious dinner in a typical restaurant and you will return to the facility.

Day 2Matera - Valle D'Itria (Puglia)

Day 2 Meeting with the Tour Leader at your accomodation.
In the morning takes place the second cultural activity of your Italian experience: Matera’s Ravine and Rock Churches Country Walking Tour. During the hike you will discover Matera’s ravine, ancient rock churches and, above all, majestic panoramic views. The nature tour will stop at a XIX Century sheepfold in the Murgia National Park where a table laden with typical Lucanian food will be served for lunch.
In the early afternoon you will come back to your facility to collect your luggage. A private shuttle transfer to Valle d’Itria will take you to your next accommodation for the check-in.

Day 3Alberobello - Ostuni

Day 3 Meeting with the Tour Leader
Right after this, the third cultural activity will begin: the Guided Tour of Alberobello’s Old Town, a walk through the alleys of the historical center. This is the best way to take a closer look at trulli’s characteristic architecture, which made in 1996 Alberobello a Unesco World Heritage Site – and therefore a must-see in Puglia.
The fine art of master stonecutters who created an ingenious construction with dry stone, framing it on each other, will be right under your eyes. Each of the trulli has its proper size and form: a unique architectural style which based on the use peasants decided to do with them.
At the end of the tour you will stop at an old delicatessen to taste a wide selection of Apulian delicacies for lunch, then you will have some free time to spend before joining another experience on your way back to the facility.
The following activity to finish the day is the fourth experience: the Guided Tour of an old masseria (farmhouse) with olive oil tasting in the frantoio ipogeo (underground olive oil mill). You will have the exclusive opportunity to visit an ancient XVI century masseria surrounded by the monumental Plain of millennial olive trees: the charming evidence of the perfect combination among nature, culture, traditions, gastronomic excellence.
The extra-virgin olive oil tasting is held inside the frantoio ipogeo, an underground cave used through the centuries as olive oil mill. At the end of this event, a private shuttle transfer will drop you off to your accommodation.

Day 4Martina Franca

After meeting with the Tour Leader, Day 4 starts with the fifth gastronomic activity: the Guided Tour of a Cheese Factory with mozzarella and burrata making class. You will make a visit to an authentic Apulian farm in the green heart of Valle d’Itria where high-quality artisanal foods are made. Here you will follow the entire production process of our exquisite mozzarella and creamy burrata cheese, then you will enjoy an interactive experience consisting of making mozzarella and burrata with your own hands under the supervision of a professional mastro casaro (cheese maker). Finally, typical Apulian dishes will be served in the masseria for lunch.
The Private Guided Tour of Martina Franca, your sixth cultural activity, starts in the early afternoon. This X century town will enchant you with its baroque- and rococo-style architecture, as well as its prestigious boutiques and souvenir shops all along the alleyways of the city centre.
At the end of this event, a private shuttle transfer will drop you off to your accommodation.

Day 5Polignano a Mare - Porto di San Vito - Monopoli - Savelletri

Day 5 Meeting with your Tour Leader and the seventh cultural activity: Discovering Apulia’s coastal pearls in vintage car: Polignano a Mare, Porto di San Vito, Monopoli and Savelletri.
This unforgettable tour on classic cars will stop in the most wonderful Apulian cities on the Adriatic Sea coast revealing you memorable panoramic views like the lush countryside, wisely modelled by expert peasant hands with great patience.
This time your lunch is a good opportunity to try seafood dishes with fine autochthonous wine.
After the meal you will return to the facility where you will have some free time to spend.
The eight – and last – gastronomic experience will take place in the late afternoon: the Pizza Making Class with “Arrivederci Puglia” Dinner.
Let’s have some fun plunging the hands into dough and making one of the most appreciated products all over the world: Pizza in all its magnificence. During the dinner we will remember all the most beautiful moments we have spent together, saying “arrivederci” to Puglia.

Day 6Departure

Day 6 Meeting with the Tour Leader for the goodbye and leave the facility with a private shuttle transfer to the place of departure.
